Prime Realty is proud to be a founding sponsor for this great event, now in its second year. “We feel it is important to promote entrepreneurship as a viable career path in our community”, says Tyler Saldutti, CEO of Prime Realty. “Entrepreneurs can help shape our economy and create jobs in Northeast Florida.”

The second annual "Dolphin Pitch" entrepreneurial student showcase drew twice as many participants as last year.

The event, held March 5 at Jacksonville University's Davis College of Business, offered cash prizes to the top three winning startup ideas narrowed down, Shark Tank-style, from about 20 pitches.

The first-prize winner was Michelle Burris, for her "Marine Online Mobile App." The app would allow active members of the Marines to access the Marine Corps main database utilizing fingerprint recognition technology. This would convert all the content from the Marine Corps website into a mobile format, allowing Marines to be able to access identification information, important leave paperwork, deployment and awards information.

Second place went to Blake Christiansen and Hector Vega for their "Micro Dam," and the third-place winner was Yeovanti Williams for "Neffi Time Management System."

This year's panel of community judges were Tyler Saldutti of Prime Realty; Jack Keigwin, executive in residence of JU's Davis College of Business; Don Capener, dean of Davis College of Business; Sam Inman, CFO of Community First Credit Union; John D'Aquilla, Managing Partner at D'Aquilla and Company; John Ward; a private equity investor; and Bob Boylan, chair of JU's accounting and finance.

In recent years, JU has put a greater emphasis on programs that encourage entrepreneurship, as well as collaborative relationships with community partners such as CoWorkJax.
